Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey appoints Gerard Abbattista,
of Westfield, to Board of Directors

HACKENSACK, NJ – Gerard Abbattista, of Westfield, partner-in-charge at the accounting firm Amper, Politziner & Mattia, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors at Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey (Gilda’s Club NNJ).

“I’m pleased to join the board of Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey,” said Abbattista, a CPA. “ It is so important for both those living with cancer and their loved ones to have access to the social support that Gilda’s Club offers and I look forward to helping the organization continue to carry out its mission.”

Gilda’s Club NNJ, a nonprofit based in Hackensack, offers social and emotional support services, free of charge, to all men, women, teenagers and children who are touched by cancer. Named for the late comedian Gilda Rader of Saturday Night Live, the clubhouse offers lectures, workshops, social events and support groups.

“We’re excited to welcome Gerard to the Board of Directors,” said Ruth Dugan, board president of Gilda’s Club. “He brings more than 30 years of financial expertise that will be instrumental in ensuring continued success of our organization.”

Abbattista received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He works at the Edison office of Amper, Politziner & Mattia
