Open Comedy Audition Calls for 11th Annual Laugh-Off

HACKENSACK, NJ – Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey (Gilda’s Club NNJ) is seeking amateur and professional comedians to compete in its 11th Annual “Laugh-Off”, which is back by popular demand. The deadline for submissions is February 24, 2010.
In honor of the late Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live, the organization’s namesake, Gilda’s Club NNJ’s clubhouse will be transformed into a simulated comedy club for three audition nights followed by a grand finale evening.
Audition space is limited and advanced registration is required. Comedians must submit a video or DVD performance by February 24 (limited to 5-10 min.),and send their name, address, telephone number, email address, head shot, and resume of performance history to: Laugh-Off, Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey, 575 Main Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Those selected will then be contacted to participate in one of three live audition nights.
The live audition dates for this year’s Laugh-Off are March 17th, 24th and 31st at Gilda’s Club located at 575 Main St., Hackensack. One finalist will be selected from each of the three auditions to compete in the finale on April 8, 2010 at Bananas Comedy Club in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Each year, Laugh-Off is coordinated by Paterson native and beloved comedienne, Sunda Croonquist (www.sundalive.com).
“Laugh-Off is one of our most popular events and we are very excited to host this competition for the 11th consecutive year,” said Board President Ruth Dugan. “It’s a wonderful community event. Comedians come from all over to exhibit their talents and our members and others from the community share an evening of laughter in the spirit of Gilda Radner.”
