Program Director, part time

Robin Gilman, LCSW-R, is the Program Director of Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey.  Robin earned her BA in Psychology, with a Minor in Sociology from the American University.  Robin graduated from the Columbia University School of Social Work, with her Masters in Social Work.  Robin‘s broad career experience includes working in employee assistance programs, hospitals, and private practice. Robin joined Gilda’s Club in 2006, as a Wellness Group facilitator, and was hired as the Program Director in 2009.  Robin’s personal commitment to Gilda’s Club was enhanced when she experienced cancer in her family.  Robin works closely with Gilda’s Club Worldwide to ensure that the Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey high program standards are in full compliance with the program philosophy. Robin manages the program and supervises clinical staff.  Robin is a spokesperson for Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey and she has a commitment to the education of prospective members that Gilda’s Club serves people with all types of cancer.  Robin is employed on a part time basis.

Stephanie Buonarota, BA
Program Manager

Stephanie Buonarata, BA is the Program Manager.  Stephanie earned her Associates Degree from Union County College in Early Childhood Education and her BA in Family and Child Services from Montclair State University.  Stephanie began her career at Gilda’s Club as an intern. Stephanie’s devotion to Gilda’s Club brought her back after her internship and she manages and coordinates Clubhouse events, schedules New Member Meetings, coordinates the Customized Membership Profiles, and coordinates the monthly calendar so that all of our Support Groups, Workshops, Lectures, and activities that keep the club house abuzz can happen.  In addition to her responsibilities as our Program Manger, Stephanie also serves as the liaison to the fundraising auxiliary.

Carley Tsaglos, MSW, LSW
Group Manager, part time

Carley Tsaglos, MSW, LSW is our Group Manager and Coordinator.  Carley graduated from Marist College earning her BA in Psychology.   Carley earned her Maters in Social Work from New York University.  Carley is also a certified Bereavement Counselor, through the Archdiocese.  Carley has 11 years of experience in the oncology field.  Her career has included working at Cancer Care, Hackensack University Medical Center, and Vitas Hospice.  Carley has facilitated groups in our clubhouse for the last 5 years.  Her many years of work in the oncology field, as well as a cancer experience in her own family, has enabled Carley to be a valuable resource for our members living with cancer and for the staff.  Carley facilitates and coordinates our Wellness and Support groups and provides clinical supervision to the facilitators running these groups.  Her continued relationships with the medical community help her to coordinate special programs and lectures and she has brought in outside support for the clubhouse. Carley is employed on a part time basis.

Lisa Schechter, MA, Licensed Counselor
Youth Program Manger/Program Support, part time

Lisa Schechter, MS is our Youth Program Manger.  Lisa graduated from Cornell University and earned her BS in Human Development and Family Studies.  She earned her MS in School Counseling from Long Island University.  Her previous work with children as a guidance counselor provides her with the foundation and experience to run programs and events for the youngest members of Gilda’s Club, our Noogies.  Lisa works with children, teens, families and young adults, who are touched by cancer.  She is dedicated to the belief at Gilda’s Club that when cancer happens, it happens to the whole family.  Her devotion to the program is evident in the rising numbers of children and families participating in all the events and lectures that Noogieland has to offer. Lisa is employed on a part time basis.

Joann Coppola
Evening Reception, part time

Joann Coppola is our Evening Receptionist.  Joann warmly welcomes everyone into the clubhouse with a smile.  She is our perfect ambassador to the community we serve.  From the moment our members walk into the clubhouse and are greeted by her, our members know immediately that that are walking into a community that is full of emotional and social support. Joanne is employed on a part time basis.
